On Feb. 1, 2019, 16 young women gathered in the Rutherford County Courthouse to found Scouts BSA Troop 2019, an event that received national coverage for chartering as an all-girl unit in the Boy Scouts of America's signature program on the first day of eligibility. This website and accompanying physical display in the Rutherford County Courthouse Museum commemorates the event and acknowledges the generational impact of girls entering Scouting.

Kevin Phillips was the founding scoutmaster of Troop 2019 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He is now a district commissioner for the Middle Tennessee Council of the Boy Scouts of America. His daughter, Morgan, was one of Troop 2019's first four Eagles.
David Parker was the founding chair of the Troop Committee for Troop 2019 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He remains in that role. His daughter, Lindsay, was one of Troop 2019's first four Eagles.

This website was designed by Life Scout Rachel Oppmann as part of her Eagle Scout Project to create physical and digital displays for the Rutherford County Courthouse Museum to commemorate the historical impact of the founding of Troop 2019, which took place in the historic building in downtown Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The displays were presented to the museum on May 16, 2023.
